Community Spotlight: Finding Ways to Give Back at The Reserve at Wauwatosa Village

  |     |   Lifestyle

“From what we get, we can make a living; what we give, however, makes a life.” These insightful words once spoken by beloved American tennis player Arthur Ashe hold true for the community team at The Reserve at Wauwatosa Village this fall.

Each holiday season, the staff and residents band together to make a difference for the community they know and love.

Last year, the team at The Reserve collected more than 300 pounds of food for Hunger Task Force, which is something property manager Tim Koehler said he sees as a personal and professional challenge to exceed with this year’s drive.

“Wauwatosa itself is an area brimming with people who care passionately about helping others, supporting small businesses, and coming together for a common cause,” said Koehler. “And our team at The Reserve is no different.”

The annual food drive will kick off at the luxury apartment home’s annual community Packer party on Thursday, Nov. 15 and run through its Holiday party on Thursday, Dec. 15. The food drive will overlap with a Toys for Tots drive that will kick off on Nov. 5 and run through Dec. 10.

In addition to the drives, The Reserve at Wauwatosa Village is partnering with Metcalfe’s throughout the month of November. Residents will receive a 5 percent discount, a difference which the store will donate to Hunger Task Force.

“We are invested in this community and these drives really offer us a fantastic way to give back to the area that we call home,” said Koehler. “It’s something we really look forward to each year.”
